Mahendra (MZ) Patel, CHA, CHO, CHIA
I am proud to be a hotelier for more than 30 years. I started with one small hotel and, with my family, built our business through honesty, hard work, and treating people fairly. I understand the challenges hotel owners face because I have lived them too.
For more than a decade, I have served AAHOA Members as an Ambassador, Committee Member, and Regional Director on the Board. During this time, my goal has always been the same: to support our members, protect our community, and help our next generation succeed.
Everything I do comes from a place of service, humility, and a strong belief that AAHOA can accomplish more when we work together.
I know what it means to be a hotel owner because I have lived this life. I started with one small property, built my business with my family, and faced the same challenges many of our members face today.
Over the years, I have also worked hard to support fairer franchise practices, stronger member benefits, and more opportunities for all of us. My focus has always been service, fairness, and real results.
As your next AAHOA Secretary, my plan is clear. I will work for you by focusing on six important goals that support hotel owners, deliver value, and strengthen AAHOA for the long term.

Hotel entrepreneurs deserve clarity on hidden rebates, vendor markups, and loyalty programs, ensuring owners get equal value and protection under every contract.

Membership should mean measurable savings. We’ll push for stronger volume discounts and vendor programs that return money to members — not middlemen.

We’ll create incentives for vendors who provide deeper discounts, exclusive pricing, and better service for owners.

We’ll grow education programs focused on practical skills — operations, technology, and financial performance — to help every owner run smarter, more efficient hotels.

We’ll provide affordable property management systems (PMS) to help them increase revenue, streamline operations, and grow profits.

Let’s build our own ecosystem. An AAHOA-owned booking platform can reduce OTA dependency, lower commission costs, and keep profits with hotel owners.
