I’m incredibly honored to share that I’ve been named to Hotel Management’s 2026 Forty Over 40 list recognized alongside an inspiring group of leaders who are shaping the future of our hospitality industry.
After more than four decades in this business, this recognition is deeply meaningful to me. I’ve lived every side of hospitality; from working the front desk to managing properties, from owning independent hotels to serving in franchise leadership and national advocacy roles. To be acknowledged for that journey is humbling, and I see this honor not as an individual achievement, but as a reflection of the people and communities I’ve been fortunate to work with along the way.
I’m especially grateful to be recognized for my work as the founder of MHO Hotels, an independent hotel brand I launched in 2020 with a clear purpose: to give hotel owners more flexibility, stronger vendor partnerships, and greater control over their bottom line.
My journey didn’t start with a title or a brand. I began at the property level more than 40 years ago, learning the business hands-on through operations, renovations, and turnarounds. Over the years, I’ve developed, owned, or managed more than 20 hotels across six states both franchised and independent. Those experiences shaped how I lead today and grounded my belief that effective leadership starts with understanding real-world challenges.
Before founding MHO Hotels, I had the privilege of serving as President of the EconoLodge Franchise Association, where I worked closely with owners and corporate leadership to modernize signage, launch the brand’s first national television campaign, and strengthen communication across the system. One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of was expanding access to training by translating materials into multiple languages because strong leadership means making sure everyone has a seat at the table.
Service has always been central to my career. As a Lifetime AAHOA Member since 1999, Ambassador, committee leader, and currently Regional Director, I’ve remained committed to advocating for hotel owners and strengthening our community.
This recognition from Hotel Management motivates me to keep pushing forward, listening, serving, and leading with integrity. Our industry deserves financial respect that matches the value we create, and I remain committed to doing the work to make that happen.
